Police Seek Witnesses After 25-Year-Old Killed In Overnight CT Crash

Connecticut State Police are seeking witnesses to a car crash that killed a 25-year-old man after he allegedly lost control of his vehicle.

Hartford County resident Joseph Johnson of Manchester, was killed around 2:15 a.m., Friday, Feb. 24 on Route 5/15 northbound, south of exit 86 in Hartford.

According to state police, after Johnson lost control of the Chevrolet Impala he was driving, the car veered left and collided with the concrete barrier in the center median. 

The Impala then veered across the lanes of travel, crashed through the metal beam guardrail on the right shoulder before colliding with a tree, went down an embankment, and came to an uncontrolled final rest partway down the embankment, state police said.

Johnson sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
